FOOD LION MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#0 Khyree Temple, Livingstone
(So., Guard/Forward – West Philadelphia, PA)

Khyree Temple averaged 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in a pair of wins over Fayetteville State and Johnson C. Smith last week. Against the Broncos, the sophomore scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds in the 67-65 overtime win. His five assists and two blocks in that game were also a season-high. In overtime, the West Philadelphia, PA native scored the game-winning basket with two seconds left, he finished 7-of-12 from the field, including two of four from deep. In the 73-71 win over the Golden Bulls, Temple tallied 12 points, six rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a block.


FOOD LION MEN’S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#24 Amadou Faye, Elizabeth City State
(So., 6-11 Center – Dakar, Senegal)

Amadou Faye averaged 13 rebounds, nine points, and three blocks while lifting the Vikings to wins over Bowie State and Virginia State last week. On the road against the Bulldogs, the six-foot-11 center had a double-double of 13 boards and 10 points with three blocks in the 65-63 victory. In the game against the Trojans, which the Vikings won 75-55, the sophomore from Dakar, Senegal finished with 13 rebounds, eight points, and three blocks.


FOOD LION MEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

#11 Jaquantae Harris, Elizabeth City State
(Fr., 6-2 Guard – Fayetteville, NC)

Jaquantae Harris averaged 16.5 points, 4 assists, and 3.5 rebounds last week as Elizabeth City State earned wins over Bowie State and Virginia State. The freshman had a season-high 26-point outburst in the 75-55 win over the Trojans. The Fayetteville, NC native shot 9-of-15 from the field and added four rebounds, four assists, and two steals in that contest. Against the Bulldogs, the six-foot-two guard contributed seven points, four assists, and three rebounds. His four assists in each game are a season-high.


FOOD LION WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#1 Aniylah Bryant, Fayetteville State
(Jr., Guard – Havelock, NC)

In wins over Livingstone and Winston-Salem State, Aniylah Bryant averaged 19.5 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1.5 steals. The junior guard scored a season-high 25 points with five boards, three steals, and two steals in the 80-68 victory over the Blue Bears. In that game, the Havelock, NC native shot 7-of-13 from the field and went 10-of-11 on free throws. Versus the Rams, Bryant grabbed a season-high seven boards while finishing with a team-high 14 points in the 59-46 win.


FOOD LION WOMEN’S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#10 Kania Pollock, Lincoln (PA)
(Sr., 5-8 Guard – Queens, NY)

In three conference games last week, in which the Lions went 2-1, Kania Pollock recorded 18 rebounds and five steals while averaging 14 points per game. In the 72-64 win over Virginia Union, the senior recorded her first career double-double with 16 points and a career-high 10 boards. On the road against Shaw, the Queens, NY native helped the Lions to a 65-58 win with a team-high 16 points with five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. The five-foot-eight guard added 10 points in a loss to Virginia State.


FOOD LION WOMEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

#13 Jakaiya Mack, Winston-Salem State
(Fr., 5-10 Guard – Greenville, SC)

Jakaiya Mack had the best game of her young career in the 78-43 win over Claflin last week. The Greenville, SC native scored a season-high and game-high 18 points against the Panthers, finishing 7-of-10 from the field. The five-foot-10 guard added three assists and three steals in 23 minutes of game time. Mack started the next game against Fayetteville State, where she tallied two points, two rebounds, and two steals.
